Dog Waste Composter Step-By-Step
At City Farmer, we turned an old garbage bin into a dog waste composter, a "dog-dooly". Please note: our experience is with 'one small dog'.
We use an old garbage bin.
Sharon drills holes in the sides.
She uses a keyhole saw to cut out the bottom.
The bottom is removed.
Claire begins to dig a hole for the bin.
We toss rocks into the hole for drainage.
The bin fits. Thumbs up!
When we place dog waste in the hole, we add a septic starter and water.
The waste decomposes and enters the subsoil. It is not used on garden beds.
